In honor of Huxley
Huxley, an 8-year old boxer, was loved deeply by his mom (Meg), his dad (Andrew), his little sister (Florence), and the entire Rise Family. Huxley served as The Rise School’s therapy dog for four years, where his daily presence brightened the lives of our families, students and staff.
Huxley was a therapy dog for both adults and children. He encouraged children of all abilities to walk, talk, and read. He made them laugh, comforted them, and brought a sense of love and calmness to the classroom. He was always there to give a hug or a sloppy kiss to the teachers, therapists, and administrators when they needed a “pick-me-up”.
Huxley lived an incredible life of service and embodied the mission of Rise to love and support people of all abilities and backgrounds. He was affectionate, intuitive, and patient. Huxley LOVED his Rise family to the fullest extent possible. He will always be remembered for his magnetic energy, short wiggly tail, those sweet brown eyes, and that inquisitive head tilt. We will forever cherish our memories with him and the time he gifted us.
The Huxley Scholarship Fund has been set up in his honor to continue his legacy and to help children of all abilities and backgrounds receive the highest quality individualized and inclusive early childhood education.
You will forever be in our hearts, Huxley. We love you.
